Porsche Wheels Falling Off And Changing EV Plans

Porsche recalls 1,851 cars with center lock wheels
2
If you have a 2024 Porsche 911, GT4RS or Spyder RS, then you should probably call your dealer to double check. The recall is for these three models built between September 2023 through December 2023. According to NHTSA, Porsche became aware of several incidents due to center lock fractures. Apparently the batch of center locks were not “constructed to specification” and could fracture, causing your wheel to fall off!
Porsche has advised owners to STOP driving the car and have it inspected by your dealer. Owners on Rennlist have shared pictures of their cars being picked up. It kinda sucks when you have to stop driving your GT3RS and then jump into a Macan loaner.
If you want to check your VIN, Porsche has a recall lookup here:
Porsche changes EV plans and will offer more combustion engine vehicles 🙏
Electric Macan
Like every manufacturer on the planet, Porsche had planned to electrify their model line up. Originally Porsche planned to electrify 80 percent of their models by the end of the decade. The remaining 20 percent would have been the 911.
EV sales have been sluggish over the past few quarters and Porsche is quick to adapt. I’m sure you have seen videos of Taycans sitting on the lots and dramatically dropping in value.
Discord Community 💬
Ok, so I am opening up the Grip Club Discord Community to the first 100 newsletter members. I am not sure of the direction of the community so I want to cap it so we can moderate and help determine the direction before making it 100% public.
Here are the current community features:
List your car for sale (parts in the future)
Introductions
Gallery (to show off your ride and any mods)
Drives & Meetups (to be split by state)
So if you don’t have Discord, download it on your phone and come join the conversation. Help shape this community into something you want to be a part of!

This is a driven 992 GT3! I will always take a 911 with miles on it versus one that has been sitting for months. Compared to other GT3s on the market, the mileage is higher but it is 1-owner and has the Porsche Certified Pre-Owned warranty. Make sure to ask for Elliott Hall and tell him Danny @ GRIP sent you!
