Lawrence Stroll, aka Lance Stroll’s dad, said that EV hype has been “politically driven”. Aston Martin is now going to continue to make combustion cars until legally told to quit 🤯. At a conference this week, Lawrence said that Aston speaks to its customer base and customers still want “sound” and “smell”.
Heck yes!
Aston Martin will now delay their first EV to 2027 and continue to build plug-in hybrids.
“We are going to invest much more heavily in our PHEV programme to be a bridge between full combustion and full electric,” Stroll said, “we think that for our customers and our market that’s going to play out and last quite a while.”

If you missed Newsletter #4, I mentioned how Porsche is working on a synthetic fuel that they aim to put on sale by the end of the decade.
The synthetic fuel that Porsche is concocting in the lab is carbon-neutral. The process is so clean, that Porsche emits the waste (oxygen) directly into the atmosphere. Porsche has essentially created a tree 🌳!

New technology is always glitchy, so it’s no surprise that Tesla accounted for over 70% of crashes (2023) in which advanced driver assistance systems were involved, according to NHTSA data.
