EV Exhaust Systems?? 🧐

Porsche unveiled the new ALL Electric 2024 Macan and you can now go spec one out on the configurator at Porsche. The Turbo model has 630hp (overboost), and 833 lb-ft of torque. The estimated range is 366 miles for the turbo and 380 miles for the Macan 4.

0-60 for the Turbo is 3.1s while the Macan 4 comes in at 4.9s. These performance numbers are impressive, and if you read Newsletter #3, you already know how we feel about EVs in general. Porsche even charges you for sound 🔊. $490 will add more emotion to your driving experience. It’s not surprising considering there seems to be a market for current EV owners.

But EV exhausts are cheaper… 🤣 

Imagine paying $490 to make the sound more emotional on a 911 GT3. That would be considered a bargain when compared to the thousands of dollars owners currently spend on aftermarket exhausts.

Let’s be honest. EVs will never sound as good as their internal combustion engine counterparts.

Thankfully some still believe in alternative fuels. Ineratec announced a $129 Million Series B investment round led by a US VC firm, Piva Capital.

The idea behind the technology is similar to Porsche’s eFuel attempts as mentioned in Newsletter #4. CO2 is captured directly from the atmosphere and combined with hydrogen.

So keep your head up. There is hope for us petrol heads⛽️.
